Report says two bicyclists sustained serious injuries when struck by a vehicle on Marion Street in Fort Myers.

The accident happened on Marion Street in Fort Myers. A 2012 Honda Accord, driven by a 23-year-old man, struck two bicycles. The two bicyclists were reportedly riding their bicycles southbound on Short Street into the Marion Street intersection.

Police reported that this incidence happened when the Honda drove into the intersection, exceeding the speed limit.

The 27-year-old woman riding one of the bicycles is in a critical condition, EMS said. The bicyclists suffered severe injuries on the knees and arms. The other bicycle rider sustained severe but non-life-threatening injuries. Both cyclists were transported to a nearby hospital.

The driver of the Honda remained on the scene of the crash.

No charges has been filed yet as investigation is still ongoing.
