Two drivers suffered severe life-threatening injuries after a two-vehicle, head-on collision on Main Highway, police reported.
A 41-year-old man driving a Honda Accord is in critical condition due to internal injuries, according to a police report. He was transported to a nearby hospital after being moderately stabilized by paramedics.
The report added that the 44-year-old female driver of the other vehicle was also injured and transported to a nearby hospital. Miami police said she is presently unresponsive. The EMS official said, they can only hope she survives the trauma.
According to the report, the accident occurred near Moorings Gatehouse. The male driver was traveling west on Main Highway when the head-on collision occurred with the other vehicle, the report affirmed.
Fortunately, both drivers were reportedly wearing a seat belt when the incident occurred.
The accident remains under investigation by the Miami Police Department.
