Truck Lost Control On Fowler Street; Several Pedestrians Hospitalized

According to the police, several pedestrians have been confirmed severely injured following an accident on Fowler Street after a truck loses control.

Fort Myers Police Department’s spokesman reported the accident happened on Fowler Street where a truck driver traveling southbound lost control of his vehicle. Eyewitnesses said the truck spun around multiple times before eventually crashing into a light pole and several pedestrians before it came to a stop.

Three of the pedestrians were badly injured by the vehicle while two others suffered minor injuries, the police spokesman also said. The injured victims were treated at the scene of the crash and then transported to the nearest hospital for further treatment.

The report says the truck driver is a 45-year-old man. He suffered injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The cause of the accident and the names of the victims are unknown at this time. Police are still investigating the accident and no charges have yet been filed.
