According to the reports, a crash has left two people in critical condition after a truck driver crashed into a retail store.
Officials said the accident happened on Cleveland Avenue near Florida Rural Legal Services in Fort Myers. The pickup truck driver was driving on Cleveland Avenue and crashed into store front. Two occupants of the truck were reported to have suffered severe injuries from the crash.
Officers said, the driver was not wearing a seat belt. It is not clear if the driver fell asleep behind the wheel or was distracted prior to the accident.
Lee County EMS arrived at the scene to transport the victims to the nearest hospital for prompt treatment. Report says they are both responding to treatment.
The driver reportedly suffered a serious but not life threatening injury to his head. He has also been transferred to the hospital for treatment.
No charges have been filed yet as the accident is under investigation.
