According to a police spokesman, a man driving a pickup truck was injured following a rear-end crash with a tow truck on Bayview Drive.
Police reported that the accident occurred on Bayview Drive just before Bay Colony Drive where a vehicle collided into the back of a tow truck.
The report says a 34-year-old man was driving his pickup truck northbound at a high rate of speed when he hit the tow truck. The tow truck driver was reportedly driving below the speed limit when he was hit from behind and stopped suddenly when the accident happened.
The driver of the pickup truck was not wearing his seat belt when the collision occurred leading him to sustain severe injuries. EMS arrived at the scene of the accident soon after it happened to administer first aid to the injured victims.
Emergency crews reported that the pickup driver was transported to the nearest hospital in critical condition while the condition of the tow truck driver was unknown at the time of this report.
Officials say the incident is still under investigation and no further details were released.
