Truck Driver Ran Red Light And Killed A Five-Year-Old On Tamiami Trail

A pickup truck driven by a 17-year-old boy was traveling west on Tamiami Trail near the intersection of Southwest 49th Avenue when the accident happened.

It was reported that he failed to stop at the stop sign and consequently T-boned a car at the intersection. This accident led to the death of a 5-year-old boy from Coral Gables.

Report says the young boy was killed after the pickup truck failed to stop at a stop sign on Tamiami Trail. The details of the car and the information about the occupants of the car, including the identity of the toddler, has not been made public by the authorities.

It was reported that alcohol was not the cause of the crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
