Trooper-Involved Multi-Vehicle Crash Temporarily Closes Eastbound SR 836

A multi-vehicle crash led to a portion of the Dolphin Expressway to be temporarily closed.  This caused long traffic delays.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a state trooper identified a man driving on the shoulder of the eastbound lanes of the highway near Miami International Airport.

It was reported that the driver failed to stop when the trooper tried to stop him, thereby leading to the driver hitting the trooper’s vehicle and causing a multi-vehicle crash.  This happened at the height of rush hour. Only a single lane was getting by at a point, according to FHP Lt. Alejandro Camacho.

Meanwhile, shortly after the crash, the trooper was able to stop the vehicle with the assistance from the Miami-Dade Police Department.

At this time the driver has not been identified.

Comments:

Marc Anidjar, from the Law Firm of Anidjar and Levine, comments on this crash:  “This was a serious accident that left an FHP Trooper injured.  It appears that the driver of the car that was driving illegally on the shoulder  would be  responsible for this accident.   Because drivers are unpredictable in their actions we urge everyone to pay attention to their surroundings when driving in our communities.  If you have been injured in any type of traffic accident, please reach out to an experience car crash attorney.”
