A fatal crash has led to the death of a man from Pembroke Pines after a car made a left turn into the path of his motorcycle, Police said.
Pembroke Pines Police Department’s Sgt. John Baker says the victim identified as Travis Fatjo, aged 27 who worked as Head Chef at Craft in Plantation, was traveling on his Suzuki motorcycle to a friend’s house when he was hit on University drive.
According to the victim’s aunt, Tori Fatjo, Travis underwent surgery at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood and “struggled” before he died.
According to Baker the driver of the car was catapulted out of her car and was hospitalized having sustained injuries that were life threatening.
The driver was traveling north on University Drive when she attempted a left turn into a parking lot near the 1800 block and then drove into the motorcycle’s path. Unfortunately the motorist sustained fatal injuries after being struck by the car.
The car’s passenger also had minor injuries in this crash. The crash remains under investigation.
