Report says a tractor trailer driver has been reported dead at the scene of an accident after being hit by another tractor trailer on Port Everglades Expressway.

The fatal crash was reported to have happened on Port Everglades Expressway in Fort Lauderdale.

The FHP said, a tractor trailer was stopped on the right shoulder when another tractor trailer swerved off the road and sideswiped it and crashed into several trees.

The driver of the tractor trailer that was on the shoulder of the road was identified as 64-year-old man.   He was pronounced dead at the scene by Emergency Medical Services.

Authorities said the driver of the tractor that was pulled over was not injured. His identity has not been released to the press.

The road was closed for several hours but was later reopened after the vehicles had been cleared.

No other details have been released and the accident is under investigation.
