Three Seriously Injured In Northeast 14th Avenue Accident After Car Ran Into A Tree

A report says police are investigating the cause of an accident after a car swerved off and crashed into a tree on Northeast 14th Avenue near a Shell gas station.

Emergency crews said three people sustained injuries after a Nissan Altima crashed into a tree along Northeast 14th Avenue near the US-1 intersection. Witnesses reported that the driver of a silver car drove through the neighborhood at a high speed and swerved uncontrollably before crashing into a tree.

Some eyewitnesses, who helped the victims, described the crash as very unfortunate as they waited for police to arrive. Officials said the driver traveled northbound and drove over the speed limit before crashing into the tree.

EMS stated there were three occupants in the Nissan. EMS transported the driver and the front-seat passenger to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. Emergency crews also transported the other passenger to the hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

It required a great deal of time and effort to evacuate the wrecked car from the scene.
