Report says three people died in a wrong-way accident on the southbound Palmetto Park Road exit ramp in Boca Raton on Interstate 95.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, three people were killed in a fiery wrong-way crash on an Interstate 95 exit ramp in Boca Raton. It was reported that a 2012 Kia Optima with two occupants were involved in the accident. FHP Lt. Alvaro Feola said, the Kia was traveling north on the southbound I-95 exit ramp at Palmetto Park Road when the accident happened.
The Kia struck a 2018 Hyundai Sonata with one woman inside. FHP reported that she was exiting the interstate when the accident occurred. The Hyundai burst into flames after the collision.
All three victims of the fiery crash were pronounced dead at the scene by Boca Raton Fire-Rescue personnel, Feola said.
The three victims involved in the crash have been identified as Christopher M. Alfeo, 35, of Boynton Beach, Amber C. Reif, 25 and Brenda E. Walker, 57, of Fort Lauderdale.
Feola said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
There is a construction zone on Palmetto Park Road at the interchange for bridge work that is being done to add express lanes to that portion of the interstate.
