Fort Lauderdale Police Department has confirmed that one of its officers and two others have been involved in a double-vehicle collision on Southeast 2nd Court.
The crash happened on Southeast 2nd Court near a parking lot while the officer were attending to another accident. The double-vehicle collision left the officer with a moderate injuries.
Eyewitnesses said, the officer was in his patrol car attending to a crash on the street when another car crashed into him. Reports say the collision might have been caused by speeding.
Paramedics, who quickly arrived the scene, transported the officer to the nearest hospital for treatment. Law Enforcement said, the driver was in company of a friend and they both suffered serious but not life threatening injuries. They were also taken to the hospital for treatment.
Officers say they all are in stable conditions. No further information about their identities has been released to the press.
No arrest has made or charges filed yet and the accident is under investigation.
