Three Injured After Driver Crashes Into Car At Crystal Drive Intersection

Three people were severely injured following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Crystal Drive and Dartmouth Street, said Fort Myers Police.

It was reported that the accident was caused as a result of speeding. The incident happened at the intersection of Crystal Drive and Dartmouth Street where a Hyundai Accent, driven by a 30-year-old man and was in company of his wife and his 57-year-old mother, was hit by another vehicle.

Report indicated that the other driver was coming from Crystal Drive, traveling east, when he ran through the intersection. The driver crashed into the Hyundai while traveling at a high rate of speed, witnesses said.

Emergency crews reported that during the accident the man, his wife and mother sustained severe injuries. EMS took them to the nearest hospital by ambulance for medical treatment.

Officers said, the other driver only suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

Police are still investigating the accident and say no charges have been filed at this time.
