Police reported that 10 people sustained various degrees of injuries after a bus, carrying seven occupants crashed into a car carrying three on Michigan Avenue.

Law enforcement officials say that ten people reportedly sustained injuries after a van and a 2012 Nissan Sentra vehicle collided at the intersection of Veronica S Shoemaker Boulevard and Michigan Avenue.

Witnesses said the driver of the Toyota van lost control of the vehicle while approaching the intersection. They say the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed and could not maintain the control of the bus when it arrived to the intersection before the vehicles collided.

EMS arrived to the scene of the accident soon after it happened and administered on-site first aid to the injured victims. Emergency crews reported that all seven occupants of the van sustained various minor injuries. The three occupants of the Nissan car suffered severe injuries but fortunately they were not life-threatening.

It was reported that all ten injured victims were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, meanwhile police are still investigation the cause of the accident.
