Spokesman for Fort Myers Police Department reported that two were hospitalized in a two-car accident on Edgewood Avenue.
The accident happened on Edgewood Avenue near Cypress Court. Report says, a Toyota SUV collided with a Ford SUV, causing critical injuries to the teenage driver.
Authorities said, the driver of the Toyota SUV was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The teenage driver of the Ford was identified as an 18-year-old female and was transported to the hospital.
The Toyota SUV driver reportedly drove off the road, then overcorrected the vehicle, leading to crash. Authorities said, he crossed the yellow line and struck the teenager’s SUV. She was reported to be in a critical condition following the accident.
The 24-year-old driver of the Toyota was the only occupant in the car when the accident happened. The female teenager was the sole occupant in the Ford.
No further information is available at the moment. Police is currently investigating the accident.
