The Florida Highway Patrol’s spokesman reported that an 18-year-old man, who was driving a Honda Accord, died in a County Road 862 accident.
According to the report, the two passengers in the sedan, both 23-year-old men, were seriously injured. The passengers have not yet been identified when this report was gathered.
The FHP spokesman said the Honda collided with a Pontiac Solstice on County Road 862 and spun out. The Solstice, driven by a 51-year-old man, was not injured, the report says. The spokesman also said the Honda, driven by the deceased, crashed into a tree at the median.
Numerous cars were involved in varying degrees, he said. He also added that it was hard to believe there was only one person killed.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, traffic was blocked at Sandalwood Circle three miles to the west for nearly four hours after the crash happened.
