Officers in Miami responded to the scene of a crash that resulted in the death of a teen in Liberty City.

Investigators were working to track down a light blue Kia Sorento with grey plastic bumpers. The driver was described as a white man, about 30-years-old with a slender build. Witnesses told police the man had short hair and facial hair.

They also told police there was a white woman in the back of the vehicle when the accident happened. Police said, that driver left the scene of the accident.

Killed in the accident was a 17-year-old female of Fort Lauderdale.

All eastbound lanes were closed as crews worked the scene investigating the accident. Eastbound lanes reopened few hours afterwards.
