According to an accident report, a Miami taxi driver dies after his cab crashes into a tree during a possible carjacking near Biscayne Boulevard.

It was reported that a Miami taxi driver has died after his cab crashed into a tree in the median of Biscayne Boulevard and Northeast 48th Street.

According to Miami police spokeswoman Kiara Delva, police believe the accident may have been the result of a possible robbery.

Delva also reported that police received a call about the accident and possible robbery. Officers reportedly found the driver on the ground outside the cab. According to the report, he was critically injured and transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital by Miami Fire Rescue.

Report says the driver was eventually pronounced dead at the hospital.

Further information about the accident has not been made public as investigation is still ongoing.  This story will be updated as more details are released.
