Police reported that a Nissan Xterra lost control and pulled into the side of the road and struck a bicycle in the process.

The 40-year-old SUV driver lost control of the car while driving along Northeast 15th Avenue, police reported. The cause of the loss of control of the vehicle has not yet been clarified. The police reported that cause is still undergoing investigation.

However, witnesses reported that the SUV veered off the road and struck the street light pole and a moving bicycle. It was reported that a 17-year-old boy was riding the bicycle when the crash happened.

The teenage boy is now in critical condition after been struck by the SUV. Police also added that the impact of the crash on the boy is life-threatening. EMS reported that the boy had sustained several bruises including a fracture on his leg.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Chrysler, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle also sustained injuries, police said. The boy and the driver have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
