According to the report from the authorities, as many as three people were injured when a SUV slammed into a shopping facility along Northeast 19th Avenue.
Police spokesman reported that the woman who rammed into the facility mistook the gas pedal for the brake. She had been parked just in front of the facility when the accident occurred.
Authorities said, people who were injured are expected to survive their injuries. However, some of the injuries sustained are life-threatening, police said.
According to the spokesman, the driver of the SUV is a 67-year-old woman. She was not injured.
Report says when paramedics arrived, one person was still immobile, on top of the car’s hood. It was also reported that one woman in the neighborhood along Northeast 19th Avenue said the loud crash noise was so much frightening.
EMS arrived at the scene and transport all the victims, except the uninjured driver, to the nearest hospital for treatment.
