A 41-year-old motorcyclist was found unconscious and critically injured after his motorcycle was hit by a SUV on Northwest 10th Avenue.
According to authorities, the accident happened at the intersection of Northwest 10th Avenue and Northwest 62nd Street where the driver of 2014 Audi Q5 SUV violated the traffic light and crashed into a motorcyclist.
The 43-year-old driver of the motorcycle was riding west on Northwest 62nd Street prior to the accident, police said. EMS arrived to the scene of the accident soon after it happened to administer on-site first aid to the injured motorcyclist. Emergency crews reported that the motorcyclist was found in critical condition and sprawled unconscious by the road. The EMS team quickly placed him on a life support system and rushed him to the nearest hospital.
The 58-year-old driver of the Audi SUV did not sustain any injuries and remained at the scene of the crash to answer questions from officials.
The name of the motorcyclist has not been released at this time and police are still investigating the accident. Charges will likely be filed against the Audi SUV driver.
