Miami Police Department’s spokesman reported an accident where a Miami-Dade man was seriously injured in a single-car accident.
Police say, two men in their mid-30s were taken via helicopter to a hospital in Miami after a man crashed his car into a pole at South Miami Avenue. Police said, that accident could have been a result of a distraction, sleep or vehicle problems. One other occupant was in the car at the time of the crash.
First responders found the passenger apparently suffering from a serious medical issue. They immediately called for an ambulance to rescue the victims. It was reported that the driver was trapped in his car where it crashed on South Miami Avenue.
Authorities have not released any information about the injuries of the driver and his current condition is currently unknown. The information about the passenger has also not been released.
South Miami Avenue was closed for several hours as officers investigated the cause of the accident. It has since reopened.
