Stretch Of Gulf Park Drive Was Shut Down As Wrong-Way Crash Kills A Man

Florida Highway Patrol reported that a man was killed after a wrong-way driver crashed into his car on Gulf Park Drive near Watergate Way.

According to a FHP spokesman, a silver Ford F150 pickup truck driven by 35-year-old man was traveling west in the eastbound lanes of Gulf Park Drive. He was reportedly approaching Watergate Way. Consequently, he struck a silver Hyundai Elantra driven by 41-year-old man head-on.

Report says the driver of the pickup truck survived the crash with critical injuries. He was taken to the nearest medical center.

According to the report given by EMS responders, the 41-year-old driver of Hyundai died on the scene.

The FHP spokesman said, “we are not certain that alcohol was a factor”.

Charges are pending as the crash remains under investigation.
