Stretch Of Evans Avenue Was Shut Down As Wrong-Way Crash Killed A Man

Florida Highway Patrol reported that a man was killed after a wrong-way driver crashed into his car on Evans Avenue near South Street.

According to FHP spokesman, a silver Ford F150 pickup truck driven by 35-year-old man was traveling south in the northbound lanes of Evans Avenue. He was reportedly approaching South Street when he struck a silver Hyundai Elantra, driven by 41-year-old man head-on.

Report says the driver of the pickup truck survived the crash with critical injuries. He was taken to the nearest hospital.

From the report given by the paramedics team, the 41-year-old driver of Hyundai, died on the scene.

As reported by the spokesman, he said “we are not certain that alcohol was a factor”.

Charges are pending as the crash remains under investigation.
