Deadly Wrong-Way Accident Shut Down Stretch Of Evans Avenue

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a man was killed after a wrong-way driver crashed into his car on Evans Avenue near South Street.

A silver Ford F150 pickup truck driven by 35-year-old man was traveling south in the northbound lanes of Evans Avenue, FHP said. He was reportedly approaching South Street when he struck a silver Hyundai Elantra, driven by 41-year-old man head-on.

It was reported that the driver of the pickup truck survived the crash with critical injuries. He was taken to the nearest hospital.

From the report given by the paramedics team, the 41-year-old driver of Hyundai, died on the scene.

As reported by the spokesman, he said “we are not certain that alcohol was a factor”.

Charges are pending as the crash remains under investigation.
