A pregnant woman was taken to a local hospital after a three-vehicle accident on Southside Boulevard, law enforcement officials said.
Police say the accident occurred when a bus loaded with students collided with a car on Southside Boulevard which then hit the third vehicle that had a pregnant woman as the driver.
Police said the bus was heading west on Southside Boulevard when a car suddenly pulled out in front of the bus. The bus driver, that was carrying 17 students at the time of the crash, could not avoid a collision and hit the car, knocking it into another nearby vehicle. The driver of the third vehicle was a pregnant woman that was injured from the impact.
EMS arrived to the scene of the accident soon after it happened to administer on-site first aid to the injured victims. Emergency crews reported that the pregnant woman was taken to a local hospital. She notified first responders that she was not feeling good and EMS felt further medical observation and testing was necessary.
None of the students on the bus were injured and all 17 were placed on a second bus while the first was taken for repairs. The car driver was not injured in the collision.
No charges have been filed yet and the accident is still under investigation by law enforcement authorities.
Comment from Anidjar and Levine:
Glen Levine, from the Law Firm of Anidjar and Levine, comments on this crash. “It is devastating incidence, especially when a pregnant woman is involved like this accident on Southside Boulevard. It is best if you can get the names and phone numbers of any witnesses that were at the scene. Take photos of the crash scene and the damage to your vehicle or property. Contact anyone in the area that may have video surveillance of what occurred. Finally you should contact a car accident attorney to help guide you through this difficult process.”
