Law enforcement authorities reported a serious traffic accident on Gateway Boulevard involving a van and another vehicle that left two people injured.
According to the news release by authorities, they say the crash happened after reports were called in about a reckless driver in a Nissan SUV heading northbound on Gateway Boulevard.
Officials say, the driver lost control, swerved into the southbound lanes and then crashed into the back of a car narrowly missing the driver’s door. The Nissan also hit the front of a van carrying several passengers.
EMS arrived to the scene of the accident soon after it happened and administered on-site first aid to the injured victims. Emergency crews reported that the driver of the van sustained minor injuries while driver of the Nissan SUV that caused the crash was critically injured. The driver in the other car did not have any reported injury and all of the injured victims were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Authorities say that the incident is currently under investigation and no other details were released to the public.
Glen Levine, from the Law Firm of Anidjar and Levine, comments on this crash: “This was a serious accident that left two people seriously injured. Sadly, the innocent victims in crashes are sometimes rendered powerless: often, there’s nothing you can do when an oncoming vehicle is bearing down on you. We wish that all involved have a speedy recovery from their injuries in this terrible accident.”
