Law Enforcement Officials Say that a Severe Accident on Sistrunk Boulevard Left Five People Injured After a Toyota Highlander Ran a Red Light.
According to the report, the crash involved three vehicles that collided when a 2015 Toyota Highlander that was traveling eastbound on Sistrunk Boulevard ran the red light. The Toyota SUV struck a vehicle while crossing the intersection causing that second vehicle to crash into a nearby Honda car.
EMS arrived to the scene of the accident soon after it happened to administer on-site first aid to the injured victims. Emergency crews reported that the two occupants of the Toyota, a 25-year-old driver and passenger, were injured and taken to the nearest hospital. The second vehicle, a Dodge car driven by a 19-year-old, suffered minor injuries according to the police report. The couple in the Honda Civic were seriously injured and EMS crews worked quickly to remove and stabilize the two occupants before transporting them to the nearest hospital.
The police said the crash is still being investigated and charges have not been filed yet. No further information has been released to the public at the time of this report.
