Law enforcement officials say an accident led to several injuries after a tractor-trailer and Dodge Dart crashed into each other on Winkler Avenue.
Officials say the accident happened when a tractor-trailer and Dodge Dart collided on Winkler Avenue near Gardner Orthopedics. Officials did not say how or why the accident happened and they are currently investigating the incident.
They did say a 16-year-old male was trapped in the Dodge in critical condition following the accident and they added that he was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident, which may have saved his life.
EMS said the teenager was immobile and unconscious when they arrived at the scene of the accident. There were two other passengers in the Dodge when the incident happened. Both sustained serious injuries. The tractor-trailer had two passengers as well, who suffered various minor injuries. The injured victims of the tractor-trailer and Dodge were all transported to the nearby hospital.
Officials say the incident is still under investigation and no further details were released.
