A spokesman for the Naples Police Department reported that a school teacher was severely injured after been struck by a motorcycle on Orange Blossom Drive.
The spokesman said, that the motorcyclist was driving his 2010 Harley Davidson Fat Boy on Orange Blossom Drive when the accident happened. It was reported that he failed to navigate a curve in the road and struck a curb. He then lost control, swerved and crashed the motorcycle into a light pole striking a victim in the process.
The victim was identified as a 32-year-old school teacher who was walking along the sidewalk on Orange Blossom Drive. Eyewitnesses said, that the victim was in serious pain and later unresponsive before EMS arrived. Emergency crews confirmed that the victim had sustained severe injuries and then transported the pedestrian to the hospital, officials said.
The motorcyclist also suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was seen by EMS.
Officials say the incident is still under investigation and no further details were released.
