Report Says a Pickup Truck was Traveling East on Del Prado Boulevard and Tried to Pass Slower Traffic. It then Crossed Into the Westbound Lanes.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, as the result of the fiery crash in North Fort Myers, three people were hospitalized. Meanwhile, one of them is now reported dead. Report also says service and emergency vehicles crammed onto Barbie Lane and Del Prado Boulevard North where it turns into Mellow Drive.
It was reported that 32-year-old Jeremy Goodson was driving a pickup truck east on Del Prado Boulevard with 29-year-old Brittany Goodson. Then he tried to pass slower traffic, crossing into the westbound lanes before the accident.
From the report, the truck collided with a car head-on, killing the 53-year-old driver inside the car traveling westbound. FHP identified that man as Robert Fiedler of North Fort Myers.
The two people in the pickup truck were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the truck was not wearing a seatbelt, according to FHP.
FHP tells us charges are still pending as this crash is still under investigation.
