Law Enforcement Officials reported a rear-end collision on Interstate 95 that sent a man to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to the news release by officials, the crash happened on northbound Interstate 95 where two vehicles collided.
A vehicle, driven by a 50-year-old woman, rear-ended the driver of a Hyundai Elantra causing several injuries. Police did not say why the first driver failed to avoid hitting the victim in the Hyundai Elantra.
EMS arrived to the scene of the accident soon after it happened and administered first aid to the injured victims. Emergency crews reported that the driver of the Elantra sustained several serious injuries and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The driver of the vehicle that hit the Elantra was not injured and remained at the scene of the accident. Officials say there were no indications that she was impaired at the time of this report.
Police say the crash remains under active investigation and details of the individuals involved in the crash have not been released to the public.
