Law Enforcement Officials reported a rear-end crash that sent a man to the hospital with serious injuries in a crash on FL-23.
According to the news release by officials, the crash happened on the southbound side of the Highway on FL-23 where two vehicles collided.
A vehicle driven by a 60-year-old woman rear-ended the driver of a Hyundai Elantra on the highway causing several injuries. Police did not say why the first driver failed to avoid hitting the victim in the Hyundai Elantra.
EMS arrived to the scene of the accident soon after it happened and administered on-site first aid to the injured victims. Emergency crews reported that the driver of the Elantra sustained several serious injuries and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The driver of the vehicle that hit the Elantra was not injured and remained at the scene of the accident. Officials say there were no indications that she was impaired at the time of this report.
Police say the rear-end crash remains under active investigation and details of the individuals involved in the crash have not been released to the public.
