Paramedics and Fire Rescue officials were at the scene of a crash that occurred on the southbound lanes of 1-295 at Dunn Avenue in Jacksonville that left a driver injured.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened on Interstate 295. The driver of a truck was traveling on I-295 when he suddenly slammed on his brakes to avoid hitting the vehicles that were stopped in traffic. He tried to swerve to avoid hitting other vehicles but struck a car and flipped into a concrete barrier.

Paramedics administered first aid to the driver of the car and transported him to a local  hospital. The truck driver was not injured in the crash.

Traffic was stopped for several hours as emergency crew worked to clear the debris. Details of the individuals involved in the accident have not been released  by the officials.
