Bicyclist Killed In An Accident On Southwest 4th Avenue

Florida Highway Patrol said a 55-year-old bicyclist was killed when he was struck by a truck on Southwest 4th Avenue near Snyder Park.

The bicyclist was reportedly riding a motorized bicycle south in the bicycle lane of Southwest 4th Avenue when the accident happened. According to FHP’s report, the bicyclist was knocked off his bike by a pickup truck and onto the road then he was struck by a second pickup truck.

According to a report received from a family friend of victim, he was said to be leaving his home in Edgewood and heading south to visit a friend when he was hit and killed. The friend added he has lived in Fort Lauderdale his entire life. The name of the bicyclist was not made public.

According to the FHP report, charges are pending against the first driver that struck the bicyclist on Southwest 4th Avenue near the Snyder Park.
