A 30-Year-Old Punta Gorda Man was Seriously Injured in a Rollover Crash, Officials Said.
According to troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened on US-41 at Madrid Boulevard around 6:17 p.m. They said the 30-year-old man was heading south on 41 when he lost control of the SUV.
The SUV swerved into the median and flipped into a nearby ditch, troopers said. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the car as it flipped.
The man was taken to a local hospital by rescue crews to be treated for serious injuries.
Three other passengers — a 30-year-old Punta Gorda woman, a 6-year-old boy, and a 7-year-old girl — were wearing their seatbelts and suffered only minor injuries, troopers said.
