Punta Gorda Cyclist Critically Injured In Bermont Road Hit-And-Run Crash

A 30-year-old Punta Gorda man is in critical condition after he was struck by a car, officials said.

According to troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol, a motorist heading west on Bermont Road near Bronco Road hit a bicyclist that was heading in the same direction just before 11 p.m. The cyclist fell into the north shoulder of Bronco Road.

After the crash, the driver continued westbound on Bermont Road, troopers said. The Punta Gorda bicyclist was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
