A Miami police officer was injured in a crash that occurred along Southwest Second Street and Southwest 17th Avenue in Miami.

According to Miami Police, officers attempted to stop a Nissan driver that was driving recklessly. The driver tried to flee by  turning off his lights in an attempt to hide from police. Police say, the driver then crashed into another officer’s patrol car.

The officer was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. Police say the officer had a broken arm and some bruising. 

The driver of the car had minor injuries and was treated at the scene.  Police arrested the driver after EMS treated him.

The police cruiser was  seriously damaged in the front.
