Police Car Struck A Bicyclist on Southwest 9th Avenue

According to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, a bicyclist was struck by a police car at an intersection of Southwest 9th Avenue.

According to an official report the Traffic Crash Investigations Unit opened an investigation into the crash.

Reportedly the police car was being operated by a police sergeant who was not immediately identified. The crash occurred at the intersection of Southwest 9th Avenue and Southwest 9th Street.

Police reported that the cyclist has been transported to a nearby hospital by EMS where he was listed in stable condition.

The identity of the driver of the Fort Lauderdale police car has not been made public at the time this report was compiled. The cause of the crash has also not been determined as investigation is still ongoing.
