Pickup Truck Driver Crashes Through Gas Station, Injuring One In Fort Lauderdale

According to the police, an impaired driver crashed his pickup truck into a Florida Gas Station and convenience store, sending a customer running for his life.

A report from Fort Lauderdale police Det. Tracy Figone says 67-year-old Joseph Wayne Aligns faces charges of DUI and failure to use due care. This was after he crashed into an Exon Gas Station. It was reported that he failed a sobriety test at the scene.

Report confirms that the customer was near the coffee counter when the truck crashed through the wall, knocking over shelves. Due to the incidence. the customer has been taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The store has reportedly reopened for business and is currently selling gas again but a section of the store has been closed off.

According to the authorities, the truck was towed away.
