Authorities said an I-195 accident involving a beverage truck and two sedans led to three injuries.
According to police, the accident happened on the westbound lanes of I-195. A 38-year-old driver of a beverage truck suddenly slammed his brake when traveling in the fast lane.
A Lexus, traveling at a high rate of speed behind the truck, slammed into the rear of the truck. A Hyundai Sonata was traveling behind the Lexus and could not avoid running into the rear of the Lexus, police added.
The report says three people were injured out of the five people involved in the accident. The driver and passenger of the beverage truck were not injured. The two occupants of the Lexus suffered severe injuries. The driver of the Hyundai also sustained severe injuries.
All three injured victims were transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Meanwhile, the occupants of the beverage truck remained on the scene of the accident.
Police are investigating this crash. According to the report, no charges has been filed at this time.
