A man was killed after trying to cross I-95 on foot in North Jacksonville.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened at about 10:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-95 near Pecan Park Road.

Officials said a semi-truck hit the 30-year-old man who was walking across the highway. He was later pronounced dead, the FHP said.

The driver of the semi-truck was not injured in the crash.

Authorities said the accident remains under investigation.
