Officers said, the pedestrian was left with critical injuries after the accident.  The incident happened on FL-93 northbound in Fort Myers.

Officials are yet to have a full detail of the accident as no information was provided to the press about the accident.

Officials said, the victim was flown to a trauma center by helicopter. The victim was said to be in critical condition when he arrived the center.

No information about the driver that struck the pedestrian has been released to the public.

The road was closed after the accident for road crews to clear the area. It was later reopened a few hours later.

The accident is still under investigation.
