Miami police said a vehicle struck a pedestrian on Northwest 23rd Street at Allapattah, leaving the pedestrian severely injured.

Authorities said the accident occurred near the intersection of Northwest 22nd Avenue on Northwest 23rd Street. It was reported that a 24-year-old pedestrian was hit by a Chrysler driven by a 31-year-old woman. The woman reportedly lost control of the Chrysler and swerved uncontrollably though at a slow speed which minimized the impact.

This pedestrian involved in the accident reportedly sustained severe injuries. The man had injuries to the head and back. Authorities also made it known that the injuries sustained by the pedestrian is not life-threatening.

EMS crew reportedly arrived at the scene of the accident to attend to the people involved. It was not reported whether or not the driver of the car sustained injury.

No charge has been filed yet. Miami Police are still investigating the accident.
