One person was transported to the hospital after a crash involving at least seven cars in Punta Gorda on Saturday.
According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred near Burnt Store Road and Jones Loop Road.
FHP says the driver at fault was the person injured and they have since been transported to the hospital.
Authorities say the crash involved eight vehicles in total.
Officials said all northbound lanes of US 41 were shut down near Burnt Store Road and Jones Loop Road. They have since reopened.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating the crash.
