One Person Critically Injured After Crash On Roosevelt Boulevard

One person is in critical condition after crashing their car into a utility pole on Roosevelt Boulevard and Plymouth Street.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the driver was heading south sometime before 5:30 a.m. on Roosevelt Boulevard and collided with a concrete utility pole.

On arrival at the scene just before 5:30 a.m., first responders found the driver was trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters helped to extricate the victim from the vehicle, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

First responders took the person to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Crews closed Roosevelt Boulevard as they worked to clear the scene. It has since reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.
