One Killed In Oakland Park Accident, Three Others Injured In Fort Lauderdale

Report says authorities are investigating an accident that left one dead in Oakland Park.

It was reported that Broward Sheriff’s Office and Fire Rescue units responded to the three-car accident along North Dixie Highway and East Commercial Boulevard.

According to officials, two occupants from one of the vehicles had to be extricated after the fatal accident. Then they were transported to the hospital, where one later succumbed to their injuries.

Report says two victims from another car involved in the crash were also transported to the hospital as trauma alerts. According to rescue officials, the driver behind the wheel of the third vehicle did not sustain any injuries.

The accident temporarily forced the southbound lanes of North Dixie Highway in Oakland Park to shut down, but the roadway has since reopened.

As pointed out by an officer, one of the large pieces of debris sitting at the intersection was an engine from one of the cars. Investigation is ongoing.
