One Hospitalized Following A Three-Vehicle Accident On FL-5

According to Fort Lauderdale police, four people were injured when two vehicles, a Mercedes and an SUV, collided on FL-5.

It was reported that the accident happened on FL-5. Eyewitnesses said that the Mercedes sideswiped the GMC SUV. It was reported that the 28-year-old driver of the Mercedes spun out of control after driving at a high rate of speed. 

The report says the accident was caused by the Mercedes driver attempting to overtake the SUV causing it to slam into a Toyota SUV parked by the side of the road, police added.

The driver of the Mercedes was the sole occupant of the car, the report says. There was a family of three in the GMC SUV – A 13-year-old boy and his parents.

The available information shows that one of the people involved was taken to the nearest hospital. The other three were also injured but were treated at the site of the accident. There was no further information on the conditions of the victims and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
