Officer, Two Others Sent To The Hospital In Fort Myers Crash

An officer with the Fort Myers Police Department was injured and sent to the hospital alongside two others in a Fort Myers crash.

FMPD officials confirmed that an officer responding to a call was driving northbound on Veronica Shoemaker near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard when he was t-boned by another car.

The officer was pushed into a small canal on the north side of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Veronica Shoemaker, according to FMPD officers.

Fort Myers Police said the driver of the other car involved was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. Both the officer and passenger in the other car were also taken to the hospital but are expected to be fine.
