The crash was captured in a surveillance video as it happened on Northwest 120th Street and Northeast Second Avenue. The driver of a car was speeding struck a man in the crosswalk riding motorcycle. According to the video, the driver got out of his car, checked on the victim and then drove away.
The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said the victim was taken to an area hospital where he is recovering from non-life threatening injuries he had sustained from the hit and run accident.
The crash remains under active investigation and they are still searching for the driver. Police have not released the name of the victim involved in the crash. No further details were released.
Marc Anidjar, from the Law Firm of Anidjar and Levine, comments on this crash: “If you or a family member has been involved in an auto accident and the other driver has left the scene of the crash, you need to act quickly. It is best if you can get the names and phone numbers of any witnesses along with a vehicle description. Contact the police immediately and file a police report. Take photos of the crash scene and the damage to your vehicle or property. Contact any businesses or homes in the area that may have video surveillance of what occurred and the vehicle that fled. All of this will assist the police in locating the hit and run driver. Finally you should contact a car accident attorney to help guide you through this difficult process.”
